❝Above and Beyond"

"Are there more stars I can give? These guys did a great job with our spray foam insulation. I kept asking for more areas and tougher places to work in. Not only that, but our job site wasn’t ideal. They had to do a lot of work moving and covering things for us. They went above and beyond for us. We also kept moving around the timeline. I’d say we were a nightmare customer, but they stuck with us and did great work. Pricing was reasonable as well. Thanks, guys! "

How Much Does Spray Foam Insulation Cost?

The answer depends on several factors. You'll want to know the square footage of the area(s) to be covered, the type and quality of spray foam, and the cost of labor. In addition, something to consider when determining your costs is to factor in your savings on energy usage. When you call Poly Seal LLC, we'll take the guesswork out of pricing the job. Just call us at (208) 996-8368 for a free, no-obligation quote.

Types of Spray Foam Installed by Poly Seal LLC

Pricing will also depend on the type of foam you choose. There are two main types of spray foam insulation: closed-cell insulation and open-cell insulation. The open-cell foam contains small bubbles, or cells, that are broken. As a result, air fills the open space within the bubble. This creates a spongy consistency. Closed-cell foam consists of cells that are not broken, but are packed tightly together. Air doesn't fill the bubbles, but rather gas in the form of CO2. This material is harder and stronger than open-cell foam.  Open-cell spray foam insulation is less expensive, but has a lower R-value (3.5 vs 6) and is more permeable to water and air. The R-value of open-cell spray foam is still higher than many other forms of insulation. Open-cell insulation should not be used below ground level, where it could absorb water.

How Much Will Spray Foam Insulation Save Me?

New construction homes are now equipped with many energy-efficient features, including heating and cooling units, insulation, high-performance windows and doors, appliances, lighting, etc. You don't have to invest in a newly constructed home to reap the benefits of energy efficiency. Having Poly Seal LLC upgrade your home's current insulation with spray foam insulation will make a big difference in your heating and cooling costs. You'll experience fewer drafts and more consistent temperatures. Your air quality will also improve, as the newly installed foam will provide a barrier for allergens and pollutants. In general, making changes to your existing home to increase energy efficiency can save as much as 30% of your home's energy consumption, which will result in notable savings on monthly bills.

  • What type of spray foam do you recommend—open-cell or closed-cell—and why?
The type of spray foam we recommend depends on the specific needs of the client. In our region, 2-pound closed-cell spray foam is the most common choice. It is primarily used on exterior walls and offers the highest R-value and air seal for your home. Open-cell spray foam works exceptionally well for sound deadening and is often applied over closed-cell spray foam in exterior attics and crawlspaces.

Spray foam insulation typically costs around $1.20 per square foot per inch.
  • How do you calculate the total cost for my project?
Poly Seal LLC calculates the total cost for your project by considering the total area that requires spray foam application, along with the desired thickness (in inches) of the spray foam.
  • Will spray foam improve comfort in bonus rooms or basements often found in Idaho houses?
Yes, spray foam significantly improves comfort in bonus rooms and basements by minimizing air infiltration, allowing your HVAC system to heat and cool these areas more effectively.
  • How does spray foam hold up in Idaho’s agricultural or storage buildings where temperatures swing dramatically?
This is one of the biggest benefits of spray foam. Spray foam insulation forms a hard surface, known as a skin, that prevents moisture and most chemicals from being absorbed into the product. This also helps to protect the metal surfaces underneath.
